It was about to be 1 a.m. in the morning at Brian and Snoopy's house, but this night was not going good. Brian just woken up from a terrible nightmare and Snoopy hurried in to Brian's room to comfort him. "Oh Snoopy, it was awful I had a horrible nightmare but this time it was not like the last one I had," Brian sobbed.
Snoopy's eyes grew huge and tapped Brian's hand with care; for whatever happens to either of them, they will always be there for each other. "I know it's getting late but can you bring me a cup of warm milk?" Brian asked politely. Snoopy nodded and went downstairs to go get his friend a cup of warm milk. After Snoopy left his room, Brian took a couple of deep breaths then he wiped his tears off his eyes.
"I can't tell Snoopy my nightmare, he's done so much for me and I can't let him handle all this weight on me," Brian said to himself softly, "I just hope this was just a one time thing."
After seven minutes, Snoopy came back to his friend's room with a mug of warm milk and handed it to Brian. "Thank you Snoopy, you're a kind friend," Brian smiled. Snoopy smiled back as Brian was drinking his milk, then he looked in to his cup. "Hey did you put in any honey in this?" Brian asked with a smirk.
Snoopy smiled and nodded then he patted Brian on the knee. "Well I think it's tasty and it's just what I needed," Brian replied, finishing up his milk. After he was done, Brian set his cup on the bedside table then he began to settle down in bed to go back to sleep. Snoopy gave Brian one last hug which Brian hugged him back before Snoopy went back to his room.
Brian fell back asleep and took hold of his teddy bear, as he was snoring the night away the dream he began to have started to take place where Brian was walking up the stage and looked around his surroundings; he saw a microphone and a presentation stand, he approached to the stand and began saying, "Hello, anyone here?" Then Brian heard voices that sound familiar: "There he is, let's get him so we can eat him!" cried out a voice that sounded like he was in charge of a city. "No not again!" Brian screamed in fear, running away from the angry group of citizens. Suddenly, Brian heard two voices; "Running over a dog isn't a crime, they don't have the same rights as humans!" a female voice laughed, cruelly. "You're right, you have no purpose and maybe I should've shot you when we were locked in that vault," the first familiar voice evilly said.
Outside of his dream, Brian was tossing and turning from the fear of his nightmares while clutching his teddy bear and shedding more tears than he did from the first nightmares.
The next morning, Snoopy woke up yawning and stretching as he got out of bed, left his room, and walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower. After his shower, Snoopy went downstairs to cook breakfast for himself and Brian (For Brian; buttermilk waffles with whipped cream, maple syrup, and sliced strawberries, scrambled eggs, and turkey sausage with a cup of coffee. For himself; blueberry pancakes, fried eggs, turkey bacon, and decaffeinated tea).
After Snoopy was done preparing breakfast, Brian came downstairs tired and he began drinking his coffee until he reached half the cup to eat his waffles. "I did not sleep very well, Snoopy," Brian groggily answered. Snoopy was started to feel a bit worried about his friend that he tapped Brian's shoulder to check if he was okay. Brian jumped which caused a bit of Snoopy's tea to spill a bit, that he rushed to clean the spill.
"Oh Snoopy, I'm sorry that your tea is spilled by me, I'll get it cleaned up and pleased don't get mad at me," Brian replied in worry, while yawning. While Brian received a few paper towels, he went to go clean the tea spill until he had to stop and yawn. Snoopy stopped his tired friend on the way then lead Brian to the living room and laid him down on his chair. "You want me to rest here and eat my breakfast as well?" Brian asked, yawning.
Snoopy nodded then he went to go receive his friend's breakfast. While Snoopy was gone, Brian was beginning to think that even though his friend is doing these nice things to him, he didn't want Snoopy to suffer and have this as a few memories but he decided to keep these feelings.
After breakfast, Brian was dozing off on his chair while Snoopy was washing the breakfast dishes and as soon as he was done, he heard Brian snoring loudly. Snoopy walked by the living room and noticed that Brian was sleeping soundly on his chair, then Snoopy went into the closet and brought his friend a nice, cozy red comforter.
After giving Brian the comforter, Snoopy got himself dressed and went into town to run some errands. As Brian slept, he began to dream he was at the park enjoying the cool breeze and sound of blue jays passing by until he heard a voice saying; "Here's a treat you have to beg for it." Brian looked down and saw he was not only wearing his Italian collar but he had a dog treat balanced on his nose. "But I don't want to, it's stereotypical towards me," Brian firmly responded. "Do it or my son will have to beat you up, you owe him money again!" screamed the voice again. Brian soon heard awful laughter as he was trying to eat the treat from his nose.
Brian couldn't stand it, he wished he could make the dream stop but not until the same car from his past nightmare began to approach him.
Brian woke up and saw that the time was 11:36 a.m. "Phew, that dream was just too much," Brian sighed in relief. "I need to take a walk." Brian got up from his chair and began to go tell Snoopy that he was going out but he noticed a note on the table from Snoopy saying that he was away doing errands.
"He must be out getting tonight's dinner," Brian said to himself. As he got himself dressed, Brian left a note for Snoopy so when he arrived, he wouldn't be worried. Brian began walking through the snow and began thinking why he was having these nightmares; was it because he had left something behind that had to be for closure? Brian had a lot of things on his mind, if only he could stop the awful dreams he was having.
Brian stopped at a coffee shop to have a nice cup of tea and to think more clearly. "I just want this to be solved and have good memories with my buddy, but how?" Brian asked himself, sipping his tea. Suddenly, Brian heard a familiar voice from behind him: "Brian Griffin, is that you?"
Brian turned around and saw a familiar face he remembered years ago; Rigby.
